Southern Business Machines, Inc. opened its doors in October of 1989.  We began modestly with two employees and 127 customers.  In the last 30 years we have established ourselves as a strong competitor to Pitney Bowes and FP mailing equipment and work to provide a great service response and customer engagement for mailing / copy / print in the United States. Our diversified product line of mailroom and paper handling equipment and software includes postage meters, mail machines, scales, shipping systems, check signers, folders, inserters, bursters, letter openers, tabbers, labelers, shredders, address validation / presort mailing software, Toshiba / Lexmark copiers, and various line of multifunctional printers. New to our line up is Remote Mailing & Sourcing abilites with our Impress series mailing applications. 

We represent many quality equipment manufacturers such as Hasler / Neopost – Quadient, Toshiba, Lexmark, Opex, Satori/BCC Software, Flexmail/FlexStream Software and Martin Yale. With paper product options as well, Southern Business Machines provides envelope options along with stationary for your mailings and inserter products.

In September of 1998 we purchased our current location at 2040 E Division Street, Weinbach Shopping Center, in Evansville, Indiana.  Southern Business Machines now has more than 17,000 square feet of office and service space, including meeting room space for customer education.  We have increased our work force & customer base, as well. Our customer base has swelled to more than 3,000 customers, and we continue to expand our customer database every day.

In March 2006, Southern Business Machines, Inc. acquired the Neopost mailing equipment line, covering two of the four mailing product markets in the U.S., in our established territories.

In February 2009, Southern Business Machines expanded its line into the copier / print space with installing its first fleet of Toshiba copiers.

Southern Business Machines is an established company with firm roots in the tri-state area.  We sell and service 52 counties in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.  We have acquired over 65% of the market share in our sales territory. We are currently celebrating over 30 years of service and look forward to an even brighter future with the community and our valued customers.
